The Frank
Fazio Memorial Fund has been set up to assist Frank's wife Angela &
their 2
young children. Frank was a loving, caring person who gave endlessly to his family, friends and clients. We met Frank in January 2006 after having some disastrous concreting work for an 124 sq meter entertainment area in the backyard of our home. It was a hot Friday night and around 8.45pm when Frank visited us for the first time. Julie and I had been sitting out the back drowning our sorrows with a few wines wondering how we were going to get the disaster rectified. I shook Franks hand and remember saying to him 'you are much younger that I expected'. Frank to me had an older sounding voice for a guy who was 37. Frank stayed around 20 minutes, and when he left I said to Julie 'we will not hear or see from him again'. It was dusk, he took no photos, no notes, how could he work out what was wrong or what was to be done? Well 4 days later we received a report in the mail from Frank and it was spot on! Frank saw everything that was wrong with the work that had been done from the foot and hand prints, the uneven levels, the illegal plumbing and so on. A few days later a quote arrived and after some conversations over the phone, which included me saying to Frank 'we do not want to be ripped off again, we have to borrow this money again' Frank was hired. His communication, his professionalism and his work were first class. The job was ripped up and re-done way better than we expected. Franks report helped us out immensely with the legal proceedings against the rogue concreter. Frank also did a great job replacing the work in the entertainment area and he also contacted his suppliers and told them of our horror experience and was able to get some supplies at no charge. Frank also discounted his own labour charge and with help from one of his friends designed and completed a garden area in our yard at no charge. We now have a tree in this garden and we have named it "Franks Tree" in his memory. In March 2006 we held a party to celebrate my birthday, but also to celebrate the new backyard. Frank and his wife Angela were our guests of honour. Frank loved his cars and the Magpies - Collingwood Football Club, young Joe loves to wear his Magpies footy jumper and his Magpies pyjamas. In 2007 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 38. Tragically on 27 January 2008 Frank passed away ~ Frank was 39
To Julie and I Frank was a angel, and he still is.
